One of the aspects in our work is that we play with the contradiction of something heavy that looks as though it’s floating and is weightless. Some of the sculptures weigh up to 400 kilos. By elevating them very subtly they look as if they are hovering above the ground.
This contributes to the feeling that you have to search for the dimensions, ‘Am I looking at a hologram, something 2D? What is that reflective material made of?’ The viewer has to strain himself to actually see what he’s looking at and is put on the wrong foot.
